Wighton Village is located in the beautiful North Norfolk countryside and can be found by meandering along the Wells - Warham - Little Walsingham Road for approximately 2.5 miles to the south of Wells-Next-The-Sea or 1.5 miles north of Walsingham. The Village is in the NR23 postcode area and is at OS (Explorer Map 251) grid reference: TF940399. Co-ordinates: 52.92146°N 0.88433°E.

The Village was, in the 19th and early 20th century a thriving bustling place with a variety of local businesses and a school but with the introduction of the railway in * and Wells becoming the local railhead for the maritime industries, the fortunes of the village businesses gradually changed and the industrial age left it behind. However, today its fortune is based mainly in varied forms of farming, producing bio products, potatoes, sugar beet, cereal crops and cheese.

Around Wighton you will find a public house, 3 B&B / Guest houses, 4 Caravan Club (5 van Certificated Location) sites, an Art Gallery, a Church, a Methodist Chapel, A Village Hall behind which is a recreation field and activity play area and fine walks and cycle rides at every point of the compass.

The village is now well known for it's spectacular Scarecrow Festival which is held each year over the May Bank Holiday - and for its live scarecrows that are pleased to greet everyone over that period!
