Wighton Village, Norfolk

Fundraising Committee

The Wighton Fundraising Committee was formed in the late 1990's and comprised of 1 member taken from each of the Church, Village Hall, Sports Field, Methodist Chapel and Youth Group committees. The aims were to schedule functions so that individual committee functions/fundraisers did not clash, Combine resources to create at least one major event per year and to build and maintain a community spirit in the village. This original concept is still alive and well today and provides much needed financial support to village groups.

The proceeds raised by the Fundraising Committee are distributed to participating groups once a year and a reserve is maintained to support general community well being.
